And so it begins...

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here in the DC area, we're bracing for this big snowstorm...maybe 10-12 inches of snow! Right now, there's nothing but flurries and clear roads, but the threat of madness was enough that the Fed Gov't is closed which means...SNOW DAY for me!! Unexpected and much appreciated. Thank you Saturn (apparently snowstorms have names just like hurricanes...Lauren was wondering why everyone was looking for Nemo a few months ago with that snowstorm up north)!!!

Without further ado, here's our first project. And it's one that couldn't be any easier!

Painted Bud Vases

All you need are:

-Clear glass bud vases - any shape and size you want!
-Acrylic paint
-Toothpicks - you know you have some in the bottom of that kitchen junk drawer somewhere!

Step 1: Grab a bud vase, pick your paint colors and paint away! Using the toothpicks as your "paintbrushes" just dab into the paint and then apply to the vase in any pattern you want. Use a different toothpick for each color...so much better than washing a bunch of paintbrushes!

We each did something a little different...confetti, stripes, ombre...the possibilities are endless!

Step 2: Set oven at 325 (don't preheat), places vases on a cookie sheet or turn upside down in a muffin pan and "bake" for 30 minutes. This will set the paint and your vases are now dishwasher-safe.

Step 3: Fill vases with your favorite flowers and admire your beautiful, fun bud vases. And give yourself a high-five for TRI-ing something new!!

Until next time!
